Procrastination?

I can't seem to help myself.  I set up this blog because I want to get back into writing and even though I am a member of the older generation, I enjoy using new technology.  I am also a full time student and this year I decided to take a summer subject because the topic is really interesting (Young Adult Fantasy Fiction) and to be honest, I really want to finish my degree in June 2011.  That said, I am really enjoying the subject.

However, and here's the rub, I have a minor essay assignment due 4 Jan. 2011 and I am writing a critique of youthful development in the Worldshaker novel, which I have nearly finished.  But there are so many other things I want/need to do before I can sit down and complete this task.  Is this a case of procrastination, or one of wanting my cake and eating it too?

IN BETWEEN NOW AND THE NEW YEAR

Sadly, the recriminations about Australia's performance in the Ashes series are flowing thick and fast.  I feel sorry for the Australian team, they carry a huge weight of expectation from both themselves, the fans, and of course the selectors.  All this in an environment where the media hypothesise about who should and shouldn't be in the team, and their comments about the selectors. Amongst it all I thought those team members interviewed showed maturity and good sportsmanship.  Not so the newspaper reports in England commenting on the Aussies - no such thing as sportsmanship there at all.  Ah well, one more test to go, I wish them all the best!

On another note, while out shopping this morning, I was reminded that it's nearly New Year's Eve as we moved around the busy supermarket and had to keep avoiding getting in the way of people pushing heavily laden trollies at a frantic pace.  New Year's Resolutions, no such thing for us, but I think I will just take time out to smell the roses, well at least for the next couple of weeks, or at least try to!

The politics of politics in NSW

Hi there

I hope that the politics surrounding the Committee set up to investigate the sale of  the Electricity sector in NSW will not hinder its actual investigation and publication of its findings!

I have to say that unfortunately Christina Keneally lost any standing she had in my opinion when she signed herself up for the NSW solar power rebates just hours before her government closed down the scheme.
